Dutch FELIXprinters introduces the FELIX High-Temperature printers. These new 3D printers are capable of printing at a higher temperature. This temperature makes it possible to print materials that require higher temperatures.
The new high-temperature printers are based on the FELIX PRO L and XL models of 3D printers introduced by FELIXprinters in early 2019. These printers deliver the same printing capabilities of the company's Pro 3 series 3D printers, but is suitable for printing larger objects. With this, the Dutch company is targeting industrial applications.
Higher-temperature printing
In its new 3D printers, the company combines a printing area of 600 by 600 by 600 mm with the ability to print at higher temperatures. These higher temperatures allow it to print other materials than traditional 3D printers. These include polycarbonate and polypropylene. 3D printing at higher temperatures makes it possible to use stronger, more functional materials to create parts for practical applications, according to FELIXprinters.
The company also sees opportunities for rapid prototyping, including in sectors such as aerospace, architecture, engineering and design. This will give them more freedom in the materials they can print prototypes in, which is also known as rapid prototyping.
Increased demand in wake of corona crisis
Guillaume Feliksdal expects demand for 3D printers to increase in the wake of the corona crisis. "There is no doubt that we are living in unprecedented times. Like many other companies in the 3D printing industry, we need to adjust our practices as we begin to beat the corona virus. We are delighted to have developed our high-temperature solution in spite of this. In many ways, the 3D printing industry is unique. For example, we expect more global attention to the sector as companies reassess and localise their supply chain," says Feliksdal.
"At FELIXprinters, the continuous demand for our industrial 3D printers, high demand for our BIO printer and recent developments in high-temperature additive manufacturing show the vibrancy of the niche. It also demonstrates the resilience of the industry as we continue and innovate in these difficult times. Thanks to our exceptional, dedicated and passionate team, we have an edge in many areas. I would therefore like to thank them all for their hard work and talents."
