From 30 September to 2 October 2025, the Netherlands will host the Dutch-Italian High-Tech B2B Days. The Piedmont Mechatronics Cluster will be present with a delegation of companies supplying international OEMs such as Stellantis, CNH Industrial, Leonardo and Comau.
For Dutch companies, this offers a unique opportunity to meet high-quality Italian suppliers and to link our own strengths in software, sensors, vision systems and AI-driven technology to a strong mechanics-oriented ecosystem. In addition, there is a focus on a very topical theme: dual-use applications that can be used for both civil and defence purposes.
Why Piedmont?
Piedmont is one of Europe's core industrial regions, with strong OEMs such as Stellantis (Fiat, automotive), CNH Industrial (agricultural machinery), Leonardo (aerospace) and Comau (robotics). The region is historically rooted in automotive and mechatronics, but is rapidly developing towards smart, data-driven applications in agriculture, manufacturing and automation. This opens up opportunities for Dutch companies: linking software, sensors, vision systems and AI-driven technology to a strongly mechanically oriented ecosystem. It is precisely this combination of high-tech and precision technology that the Netherlands has traditionally been strong in.
What will the delegation bring?
The participating companies cover the full breadth of mechatronics and advanced manufacturing:
- High-precision metalworking & casting: aluminium high-pressure die-casting, CNC milling and turning, surface treatments.
- Special machinery & production systems: modules, assembly and complete turnkey solutions.
- Polymers & new materials: customised components in polyurethane, rubber, silicone and engineering plastics.
- Additive manufacturing: industrial 3D printers and multi-material prototyping.
- Electronics & wiring: connectors, sensors, wiring harnesses and junction boxes.
- Test and measurement systems: end-of-line and e-mobility solutions for automotive and high-tech industries.
Their distinguishing features: rapid prototyping, short lead times, flexible series and circular materials. Moreover, they often know how to integrate mechanics and electronics in a single solution. References such as Bosch, Valeo, Arcelor Mittal, Alstom, Ferrero and KTM underline their quality.
Dual-use applications
Part of the delegation develops technologies that are used in both civil and defence contexts. Think of advanced test and measurement systems, precision components and materials that are suitable for aerospace or defence in addition to automotive or industrial applications. Although companies are often reluctant to name specific references due to confidentiality and NDAs, this is in line with the strong presence of players like Leonardo in Piedmont. For Dutch companies in high-tech and defence-related sectors, this offers additional starting points for cooperation.
Who is interested?
- OEMs and Tier-1/Tier-2 companies seeking components, subsystems or turnkey solutions.
- Companies in need of prototyping, small series or scalable serial production.
- Engineering, procurement and supply chain teams wanting to talk to directly technically approachable suppliers.
The Mechatronics Cluster Piemonte, together with psps business abroad supports the matching: the team identifies your technical requirements and introduces suitable suppliers. This service is free of charge for international buyers.
What does participation bring?
- Access to proven suppliers with international references.
- Short lead time to production or prototyping.
- Understanding best practices around supply chain performance and cost control.
- Participating companies are looking for business, while the cluster team can explain the ecosystem. This cuts both ways.
