Over the next five years, over €800 billion will be invested within Re-Arm Europe to strengthen the European defence industry and its supply chains. There are great opportunities here for Dutch metal companies, especially for parties that supply high-quality products and technologies that can be used in both civil and defence contexts (dual use).
From 30 September to 2 October 2025, a delegation from the Piedmont Mechatronics Cluster will be in the Netherlands. This group of companies - suppliers to Stellantis, CNH Industrial, Leonardo and Comau, among others - represents the core of Italy's strong mechanical-oriented ecosystem. Companies from Piedmont already supply players such as Leonardo and Stellantis and develop components and systems relevant to aerospace and defence. This creates concrete opportunities for Dutch high-tech and precision technology companies to connect with Italian partners to major European defence companies that are actively looking for new suppliers and development partners.
Keynotes
The central moment to meet the delegation is on Wednesday 2 October at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven. The programme will start at 11:45 am with a lunch, followed by two keynotes:
- Prof Maarten Steinbuch (TU/e), internationally recognised high-tech systems scientist and entrepreneur, on the urgency of pan-European cooperation and the opportunities created by dual-use technologies.
- The Mechatronics Cluster Piemonte, showing how their ecosystem connects to Dutch expertise in software, sensors, vision and AI.
After the plenary sessions, there will be plenty of opportunity for networking and matchmaking. This is the time to explore how Dutch and Italian companies can jointly capitalise on the billion-dollar investments in Re-Arm Europe.
Unable to attend on 2 October? The delegation will also be in the Netherlands on 30 September and 1 October, providing additional opportunities for 1-on-1 discussions.
