Visitors at ESEF Maakindustrie can visit Wintheon Management Services, among others. On the exhibition floor, the company will display Ridder iQ and Wintheon Software, ERP solutions specifically tailored to the manufacturing industry. Using modules developed by Wintheon, the solutions can be tailored to the needs of sheet metal workers and machine builders. How this works and the advantages it offers will be demonstrated by Wintheon on the exhibition floor from 1 to 4 September 2020.

Wintheon Management Services has been operating as a reseller of Ridder software since 2011. The company has been part of Ridder Data Systems since 2018. As a subsidiary, Wintheon operates independently in the market. "We think from practice and take a flexible approach. Our consultants frequently visit customers in our specific market segments and therefore know how these organisations operate. They use this practical knowledge to provide clients with the best possible support," explains Lissa Verhoog, Sales and Marketing at Wintheon Management Services.

An ERP system for practice

Wintheon specialises in ERP products for sheet metal workers, suppliers and machine builders with its own sheet metal department including its own laser and press brake. The company supplies Ridder iQ, an ERP system developed for practitioners. This solution consists of a basic module, which can be supplemented with additional modules to provide various functionalities.

These include modules for recording working hours using barcodes and production planning, as well as CAD and CAM integrations, PDA logistics and production planning. “Among other things, the software offers features for automating preliminary costing and gathering information from production systems. Thanks to these features, data no longer needs to be entered manually, which is both time-consuming and prone to errors.”

Process-oriented thinking

Wintheon helps customers select the right modules, a process in which process-oriented thinking is central. “Many of our staff are out and about all day, visiting manufacturing companies. They map out customers’ processes and help to automate them as effectively as possible by selecting the right modules,” explains Verhoog.

The modular structure of Ridder iQ offers benefits for the customer. “Customers decide for themselves which functionalities to add to the ERP solution. Not only does this ensure they have access to the functions they need, but it also means they do not pay for functionalities from which they derive no benefit.”

In-house developed modules

In addition to the supplementary ‘standard modules’ supplied by Ridder Data Systems, Wintheon also offers four ‘standard’ modules. “These include, among others, Wintheon Time Management for time recording and Wintheon Importer for importing structured 3D drawings. The Wintheon Importer helps machine builders, for example, to import CAD drawings and create fully automated bills of materials,” says Verhoog. “Wintheon CAM Calculation automates preliminary cost estimates and thereby generates an accurate cost estimate in conjunction with the CAM systems; furthermore, the digital documents are linked to the ERP system. The solution enables sheet metal fabricators to carry out a cost estimate in advance of the quotation process. The Wintheon CAM Production module enables integration with various CAM systems.” The cut or set-up orders are exchanged directly with the ERP system, giving the customer an accurate overview of the post-calculation and status of the various orders.

See Ridder iQ for yourself

Wintheon will be present on the exhibition floor at the upcoming edition of ESEF Maakindustrie. “ESEF Maakindustrie is renowned as the leading trade fair for the manufacturing industry. Wintheon is well-placed to support the manufacturing industry and assist it in its transition to Industry 4.0, which makes ESEF Maakindustrie an important trade fair for us to attend,” says Verhoog.

“The theme that is central to our presence at ESEF Maakindustrie is ‘the digital factory; the next step’. The focus is on integration with CAD and CAM systems; we currently offer integrations with software from LVD Software and Wicam. This will be further expanded in the near future to include Libellula and Bystronic, amongst others,” explains Verhoog. “On the exhibition floor, these integrations will be demonstrated and visitors will be able to see the Ridder iQ package with their own eyes.”
