The metal and manufacturing industry is in full swing, but it is important that everyone moves in the right direction. To remain internationally competitive, we need to work towards a Smart Industry, in which the same or even fewer staff and machines can ensure more production. And that is possible, with a variety of solutions, many of which will be presented at De Brabantse Metaaldagen.
The Brabantse Metaaldagen - from 10 to 12 April in the Brabanthallen in 's-Hertogenbosch - is a new event aimed at the metal and manufacturing industry and entirely dedicated to process optimisation and production improvement. Here, both speakers and exhibitors will present smart solutions that can really help professionals move their businesses forward.
Towards Industry 4.0
The biggest problem of the manufacturing industry is the lack of well-qualified personnel. This has to do with the changing needs of the market. Instead of additional machines and people, people are now looking for solutions to run more production with the current workforce or even fewer people. In short, customers are looking for ways to achieve rapid production improvements.
These production improvements can be achieved with big and small solutions, such as a new machine, automation, better software or staff training, but also the timely supply of the right materials and tools. Anything that can help make companies more efficient and productive on their way to Industry 4.0 is worth exploring.
Industry-wide solutions
The full breadth of solutions will be covered at The Brabant Metal Days. Thus, there will be attention not only - as usual at metal trade fairs - to tangible components such as machines, materials and tools, but also to software and organisational solutions. And this attention is not only in the form of concrete, ready-made products, but also in the form of presentations that provide the necessary inspiration and depth.
Medium dividers and standardised modularity
The Metal Days are the perfect place for a professional to be presented with workable solutions for their specific field. Companies like MHT, Cellro, Astes4 and Olmia Robotics will be there to showcase their unique products. For example, a system that combines a laser cutting machine with an automatic warehouse to optimise material flow will be on display. In addition, examples of so-called standardised modularity will pass by: an innovative approach to production automation. But there is more, much more; such as a loading cabinet for machine tools that increases production. And what about a 'medium distributor' that makes efficient and cleaner dry milling a reality?
Additive manufacturing and digital twins
There is no shortage of innovative services and ideas either. Keynote speakers such as Dr Bibi Visnjicki from the Fraunhofer Institute, Michael Strahlberger from Siemens and Stewart Lane from Renishaw will all offer their unique perspective on the opportunities available within the metal and manufacturing industry. This will include specific technology solutions, the benefits of additive manufacturing and how digital twins can increase production.
In addition, the companies Isah Business Software and ING, among others, will contribute, with presentations on - respectively - good software solutions for process optimisation and the opportunities for suppliers in the fast-growing high-tech industry.
Achievable solutions for a smart manufacturing industry
It may be clear: there are undoubtedly steps to be taken, but that smart industry is closer and more attainable than it may initially seem. Every company can already benefit from the knowledge that exists within the metal and manufacturing industry and the many innovative products that have been developed. It is only a matter of finding the best fitting solution for each individual professional. And there is nowhere better to do this than at The Brabant Metal Days.
