ESEF 2018 is just around the corner: from 20 to 23 March, the trade fair for the manufacturing industry will take place. In the run-up to this, we highlight a number of exhibitors on the basis of five short questions. This time it is the turn of MCB Nederland B.V..
1. What solutions do you have to offer ESEF visitors?
"The focus for MCB this edition of the ESEF includes presenting our new BEWO sawing machine. In addition, we will show more about our e-commerce capabilities. Think of EDI, Webportal and other web services. In the context of CSR, we will inform our customers about the MCB Wood4Wood service, where we return pallets and loose beams for our customers."
2. What has been your latest investment and why?
"All investments within MCB are aimed at reducing lead times and increasing service levels. Last year we commissioned a fully automated high bay warehouse for our stainless steel and aluminium long products. Linked to this are 4 sawing machines that allow us to deliver custom-made products within 24 hours in many cases. In addition, our new BEWO series saw is currently being installed. Commissioning of this is planned for mid-April."

3. How did you contribute to the customer's final product?
"With our products, we are at the basis of many end products in the manufacturing industry. Our role in the chain is to provide the right material at the right time in the right quantity. The customer can expect from MCB that in addition to reliability and quality, we will always think along in optimising the total process."
4. What innovations and projects have you worked on recently?
"Especially in the field of digitalisation, the MCB group has made great strides in recent years. In addition to setting up the webshop and EDI for processed and unprocessed products, the first web service customer recently went live. By means of this web service, MCB offers the possibility to digitally exchange information on price, availability and delivery time in real time and without placing an order. The advantage over standard EDI is that the customer can calculate 24/7 with up-to-date information in a very efficient way."
5. How do you relieve your customer?
"The basis in unburdening our customers is the right availability, quality and reliability. To achieve this, we have various VMI solutions to manage stocks in the chain as efficiently as possible. In addition, sharing knowledge through our MCB Campus and Knowledge Days remains a spearhead of the MCB group."
