Industrial SMEs sell themselves short, even in boom times
The Netherlands has many thousands of innovative SMEs that are an unmistakable link in the Dutch manufacturing industry. All these companies ensure that the economy runs at full speed and there is a boom. During the second edition of the Evening of the Manufacturing Industry on 13 March, the spotlight will therefore be on them, and the results of a study on margin maintenance among industrial SMEs will also be presented.
The Avond van de Maakindustrie is a celebration of the SME manufacturing industry and takes place in Jaarbeurs Utrecht. The first edition in 2018 was a success which called for a sequel. The evening showcases the innovative power and diversity, together with the interconnectedness of the various manufacturing companies and sectors. Innovative and flexible SMEs that together form the heart of the manufacturing industry in the Netherlands. They are key partners of companies like ASML, Philips and Hoogovens and are indispensable for the innovative power and employment of the Netherlands BV. For this reason, the main stakeholders in the SME manufacturing industry, Koninklijke Metaalunie, FPT-VIMAG, and NRK, in cooperation with Jaarbeurs, put the spotlight on their members by presenting various Awards. Besides the various Award ceremonies, ABN-AMRO presents the results of a study on margin maintenance among industrial SMEs in times of boom. Although boom times suggest that SMEs generate sky-high profits, surveys and analysis of customer data show that even in boom times, profit margins can be under pressure and extra attention is needed.
