PAL-V has chosen Nobleo Manufacturing as its strategic partner for the industrialisation of its FlyDrive production. Nobleo Manufacturing will help PAL-V move from development and certification to scalable production.

The partnership is intended to help PAL-V further develop, optimise and digitise its production organisation. Together with Nobleo Manufacturing, it will, amongst other things, set up the production processes, the necessary infrastructure and the industrialisation strategy.

Structuring production processes

Nobleo Manufacturing has expertise in industrial engineering, digitalisation and production optimisation. This knowledge is intended to help PAL-V further structure its production processes and develop digital support for its production organisation.

The industrialisation strategy must be tailored to the various production phases, from prototyping and pre-series production to scaling up to larger production volumes. According to the companies, the collaboration focuses both on the further development of production processes and on the digital infrastructure required to support the production organisation. No specific targets for annual production capacity or a date for the start of series production have been announced.

European Production Organisation Approval

The European Production Organisation Approval (POA) granted to PAL-V in September 2026 is a significant step for the company. Thanks to this approval, the company is authorised to manufacture aviation products in accordance with the regulations of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The approval paves the way for the production of its FlyDrive vehicles, which can be used both on the road and in the air.

The POA relates to the production organisation and confirms that it complies with the applicable requirements for the manufacture of aeronautical products. The approval is therefore an important step towards production, but is separate from the full certification of the Liberty as an aircraft. The further development and certification of the vehicle constitute a separate process.

The next challenge is to establish a production organisation that is scalable. This involves standardised processes, the necessary supply chain and the right production systems. Nobleo Manufacturing will support PAL-V in this endeavour. The collaboration covers various stages of production, ranging from prototypes and pre-series production to the launch of mass production and the determination of future production volumes.

Liberty

PAL-V is developing the Liberty, a vehicle suitable for use both on the road and in the air. The company is targeting, amongst others, professional users for whom accessibility and the deployment of staff to remote locations are important.

The Dutch company’s technology has been in development for almost twenty years. The company reports that it has now received enough customer orders to sustain production for several years.

Through this collaboration, PAL-V is taking the next step in its preparations for industrial production. The coming phase will focus on further developing the production organisation following the attainment of automotive and aerospace production accreditations.
