Remote-controlled model boats generally look pretty but do little more than cruise around the pond. PowerVision's PowerDolphin changes all that. Suddenly, you can search for the ideal fishing spot from the shore -or from a fishing boat-, make maps of the underwater topography or take HD photos and videos on and below the waterline.
The PowerDolphin features a camera that can rotate up and down so you can choose whether you want to look over the surface of the water or peer into the depths below. For the latter, the small spotlight offers a solution. A camera can capture 4K video footage that is stored on a built-in SD card; the footage is also streamed at 1080 pix resolution to an app on the user's smartphone. The app is also used to control the craft up to a distance of 1,000 metres. In addition to the smartphone, the corresponding remote control with joystick can of course also be used.
The PowerDolphin can be fitted with sonar equipment, allowing it to map the bottom of the ocean, for example, or recognise a school of fish up to a distance of 40m. In the latter case, the craft can even scatter bait via a funnel 'in tow' or directly attract a fishing line behind it. More practical when it comes to swimming safety: the little craft can also deliver rescue equipment to people who are in danger while swimming.
The top speed of the PowerDolphin is 21 km/h; according to the supplier, the batteries provide enough capacity for two hours of sailing. Want to see the Power Dolhin in action? See it go below.
