Do you want to redesign your product for free, or scale it up to mass production, but lack time and knowledge? There are 30 HvA students ready for you from the Engineering programme. In 20 weeks, they will develop an integrated design, including detail engineering.
After ten successful projects in previous years, it is again possible for companies to apply this year. The students investigate which (metal and plastic) production technique best suits a product and, with the client's technical requirements, look for optimisation in functionality, cost and manufacturability, with special focus on modularity. They are coached by a professional team of product developers and teachers. It is interesting for companies that, for example, want to scale up an existing product for larger sales and a different production technique, want to investigate the feasibility of a product or have a new product idea and have it worked out. Possible projects include enclosures with plastic parts, such as a remote control for a hoist truck, an enclosure for a measuring instrument or a multifunctional folding frame with plastic parts.
It costs organisations participating in this one man-week of investment and yields four man-years of effort.
The students are studying the Industrial Design Engineering specialism, which focuses on developing products for mass production.
You can apply for this unique opportunity until 10 January 2020 at the latest, quoting “ilio” via M.L.Barends@hva.nl. The project will run from February to June 2020.
