Innovative and flexible SMEs that together form the heart of the manufacturing industry in the Netherlands. Roelof Hemmen, among others former presenter of the RTL 4 news, is chairman of the day. Just like during the previous edition in 2020.
Presentation of TechniShow Awards
During the Evening of the Making Industry, the TechniShow Awards are traditionally presented. At the beginning of June, the professional jury nominated a total of 12 candidates in the categories 'Flexible Manufacturing', 'Smart Manufacturing' and 'Digital Factory' for the TechniShow Innovation Awards 2022. The jury is positive about the level of entries and sees a further evolution of digitalisation in the manufacturing industry.
Digitisation
Besides the presentation of the TechniShow Awards, the theme of the evening is craftsmanship and digitalisation in the manufacturing industry. Smarter, faster and flexible production can be partly an answer to the shortage of skilled workers. In any case, it is a must for manufacturing companies to remain competitive. Sjoerd Hardeman, senior economist Rabobank, will present his research 'Successful digitalisation requires attention to technology and business operations' during the Evening. His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion led by Rabobank industry sector managers Kees de Schipper and Yorick Cramer.
Preserving craftsmanship
For decades, people in the technical sectors have been talking about a shortage of - and the importance of - well-trained skilled workers. Recently, the labour market, craftsmanship, education and related topics have increasingly become a major topic of conversation. Emma van Geel, Founder Future of Twente and Business Analyst & Business Developer Sport Innovation at DEMCON discusses this topic.
