There are still great opportunities within the construction industry in terms of industrialisation and digitisation. Jaarbeurs (known from Bouwbeurs, VSK, Gevel, ESEF, Smart Homes & Intelligent Buildings) is therefore launching BID (Building Industrialization & Digitization); an annual content-driven, knowledge-intensive event featuring recent reference projects and the latest and future developments in this field. The event will take place on 3 and 4 December 2019.
With the BID event, Jaarbeurs acts as a flywheel for innovation, knowledge sharing and cooperation at the interface of construction, installation, IT and manufacturing industry. During the two-day event, an extensive substantive programme will be presented, consisting of conferences focusing on smart technological applications, prefabrication and chain cooperation, among others. In addition, suppliers will show solutions and reference projects in the field of digitalisation (calculation software, smart buildings, supporting IT tooling) and industrialisation (prefabrication, production technologies, design and engineering). The event targets the management of contractors/construction companies, engineers, installation companies, suppliers, engineers/constructors, technical consultancies, architects and property management and development.
Patrick Schilte, business unit manager Construction, Installation and Manufacturing of Jaarbeurs: "In our portfolio of brands, we have seen for years that the worlds of construction, installation, IT and manufacturing industry are creeping closer together due to the influence of technologies and that there are great opportunities in cross-pollination between these sectors. However, these opportunities are not being fully exploited because these target groups do not meet enough. We are going to make these meetings possible through BID."
