The Dutch manufacturing industry is alive and kicking and at the same time faces many short- and long-term challenges. Supply problems, cost increases and staff shortages are acute. Developments in technology and innovation have major long-term impact. How do you deal with them? And how do you stay successful? For that, the Chain Theatre has the answers, from 30 August to 2 September 2022 at ESEF Maakindustrie.
From 30 August to 2 September 2022, the entire manufacturing industry gathers in Jaarbeurs Utrecht for the trade shows ESEF Maakindustrie and TechniShow 2022. Here you will hear all about novelties, developments and the future of the industry. There is a large programme of activities and lectures at both fairs, including the Chain Theatre at ESEF Maakindustrie, in hall 10 between the entrance and the 3D Square.
Chain theatre: current themes
On all exhibition days, the Chain Theatre will host presentations and workshops on current themes in the manufacturing industry, such as industry 4.0, productivity improvement, chain cooperation, planning and automation. Michel van Buren is the driving force behind the Chain Theatre. He is managing director of BLMC, which helps organisations transform to success.
Michel:'We see that the manufacturing industry faces various challenges. Through this platform, we would like to contribute to the industry by sharing the knowledge of our specialists. In addition, we have invited experts from science and from different industries, and strong players from the industry share their practical cases.'
How to stay relevant as a company
Erik Elgersma explains how to use data analysis to make better decisions, Pieter van Opstal of Dubré/Vorselaars shows how he shapes growth, and Arthur van der Lee of DCS shares the do's and dont's of innovation from his own practice. Gerard Ekhart presents a way to ensure that you will still be relevant as a company in 10 years' time.
He wrote the book 'Our manufacturing industry crashes'. Of course, he also offers a solution: 'I see how the manufacturing industry is changing and believe that 'rethinking' is badly needed. Many companies suffer from Kodak syndrome and remain stuck in a business strategy written down in the last century. I have developed a new model, the Vitality Wheel, which companies can use to ensure their viability in the 21st century.'
