Dutch submarine manufacturer, U-Boat Worx, has been operating since 2005 with tours de force in underwater vehicles. Recently, the lightest, manned submarine was announced. This Nemo of be carried on a trailer to sail away from anywhere but can also be taken on a yacht as a recreational vessel.

Nemo is a two-person submarine and weighs just under 2,500 kg. At about one and a half metres long, it takes up no more space than a pair of jet skis. A lifting point ensures that the submarine can also be easily lifted out of the water again.

Nemo is also a fine enhancement for yacht owners.

Stylish mix

Nemo's cruising speed is 3 knots; the diving depth is at 10 m. With two people, it is possible to stay underwater autonomously for more than 8 hours. Boarding is at the top. Once inside the craft, the stylish mix of comfort and functionality is striking. In addition, the large round sphere gives a great view to all sides.

Although the ‘captain’ of the Nemo does need to be trained, passengers can also steer the submarine under supervision using the Manta control system. The autopilot, which is of course also on board, automatically assists with depth and direction control. Using a separate controller, the vessel can also be operated remotely if required.

Production of the Nemo will commence as soon as market demand is met. The Nemo comes as standard with air conditioning, communication equipment, lighting and spotlights. This can be optionally upgraded to include, among other things, additional lighting, sonar and navigation systems. A 12-day training programme on Curaçao is included with purchase .
