Huisartsen van Nederland and Momo Medical are the winners of the Nationale Zorginnovatieprijs 2023. Huisartsen van Nederland was declared the winner of the professional jury prize worth 10,000 euros by the professional jury. Momo Medical received the most votes from the public and wins the public prize worth 5,000 euros.
The National Care Innovation Award 2023 puts innovative companies in the spotlight and makes them visible in the Dutch care innovation landscape. Huisartsen van Nederland was chosen as the winner by the expert jury. The organisation offers smart triage software that leads to an efficient patient flow management system. This system optimises triage and practice processes within GP care. Thus, the solution increases patient accessibility and quality of care. At the same time, it reduces workload and increases practice capacity.
Scalable to other sectors
Jury chairman Heleen van Nispen: "Huisartsen van Nederland's triage system leads to the replacement and acceleration of some of the first-line work. At the same time, it nurtures and combines personal contact." Among other things, the jury praised the design and working method, which is scalable to other sectors. The solution can thus help ensure the accessibility of care.
Johannes Schouten, director of Huisartsen van Nederland: "We have many ideas in which we can invest this. For example, we can also start bringing together multiple primary care institutions outside GP care on our platform."
Momo Medical wins audience award
Momo Medical wins the audience award with its Momo BedSense App; the app received 43 of the votes from the audience. This app gives care workers insight into nursing home residents. For example, they can see who is restless or which resident has gone out of bed. The app is linked to a bed sensor, which is placed under the mattress. Care workers can see data on all residents at a glance via the app and can thus take targeted action.
The Momo BedSense App provides predictive and real-time insights, reducing workload and supporting person-centred care. Among other things, this should lead to fewer falls and better sleep for residents.
Menno Gravemaker, founder of Momo Medical: "We have a lot of nurses and carers who make this possible together with us, we would like to put them in the limelight with this."
