Car manufacturer Ford has designed a special baby cot. The cradle helps babies fall asleep by mimicking the movements and sounds of a car.

Many parents will recognise it: as soon as they take their baby in the car, it falls asleep almost immediately. According to researchers, this is due to the specific movements and sounds a baby experiences in the car. Ford decided to use its expertise to recreate this experience and came up with the so-called Max Motor Dreams.

Sound own car

This cradle makes rocking movements and also mimics the sounds of the car. Parents can even record and save the sounds of their own car through an app and input them into the cradle's system. The cot also includes an LED strip that simulates street lights. Ford has used friendly round shapes for the Max Motor Dreams, inspired by the carmaker's most iconic models.

Conceived by Ford's Spanish arm, the Max Motor Dreams was originally designed to promote the Ford Max. The carmaker raffled off only one copy among all those who test drive the Ford Max. But after many requests from parents, the manufacturer is considering actually putting the cradle into production.

Other cradle

Ford's cradle, incidentally, is very similar to the Snoo Smart Sleeper, which was launched last year. This cot was conceived by a US paediatrician and developed by the MIT Media Lab. The difference is that the Snoo, through white noise, simulates the situation the baby experienced in the mother's womb.
