France's Dassault Systèmes is to develop an industrial AI architecture with US chip giant NVIDIA. The architecture is specifically aimed at mission-critical applications, including in material science, engineering and manufacturing.
This was announced by the companies at 3DEXPERIENCE World, Dassault Systèmes' annual event for design and engineering professionals. The architecture combines Dassault Systèmes' Virtual Twin technology with NVIDIA's AI infrastructure, open models and software.
Industry World Models
Together, Dassault Systèmes and NVIDIA want to develop so-called 'Industry World Models'. These are scientifically validated models that position industrial AI as a mission-critical system rather than a stand-alone solution.
Through its OUTSCALE brand, Dassault Systèmes is setting up AI factories as part of its sustainable and sovereign cloud approach. These AI factories run on NVIDIA infrastructure and enable the use of AI models on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. In doing so, customers keep data, intellectual property and control in their own hands.
NVIDIA Rubin and NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint
For its part, NVIDIA is using Dassault Systèmes' model-based systems engineering approach to design its own AI factories. These factories are based, among others, on the NVIDIA Rubin platform, which focuses on agentic AI and reasoning.
NVIDIA is also applying the approach for the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint, which is a blueprint for setting up and managing gigawatt-scale AI factories.
The integration includes biology, material science, engineering and manufacturing. For example, combining NVIDIA BioNeMo with BIOVIA's scientifically validated models allows researchers to discover new molecules and materials more efficiently.
AI-driven design and engineering
SIMULIA uses AI-based 'Virtual Twin Physics Behavior' in collaboration with NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and AI physics models. This allows designers and engineers to predict the behaviour of products and systems faster and more accurately.
NVIDIA Omniverse Physical AI libraries have also been integrated into Dassault Systèmes' DELMIA Virtual Twin of manufacturing environments. This allows manufacturers to virtually simulate, test and refine manufacturing processes before actually putting products into production.
Digital assistants for industrial professionals
The agentic 3DEXPERIENCE platform combines NVIDIA's AI technologies and Nemotron models with Dassault Systèmes' Industry World Models. Users thus get support from virtual assistants that understand industrial context and provide reliable, instantly actionable insights at industrial scale.
